the floors had a charming creak that added to the heritage ambiance. Our room was clean and cozy, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities like a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. the Wi-Fi signal was strong and the TV reception was excellent with plenty of channels to choose from, all for free! the proprietor was a delightful person who made us feel welcome. He even allowed us to check in early after a long drive and kindly gave us some amazing nut bread for our early morning departure. We highly recommend the Historic Hotel for any traveler or long-term guest.

We had the most incredible dining experience at Mylo's/The Speakeasy Restaurant in the hotel basement. The atmosphere was charmingly historic and the staff was super friendly. The beef dishes, like the blue cheese filet mignon and prime rib, were simply outstanding. The prices were reasonable too. The only tiny quibble was the salad, which could have been a bit more interesting, but that didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying this superb restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel!
