An unforgettable beachside retreat

Staying at John Yancey Oceanfront Inn was a delightful experience. The beachfront location allowed us to enjoy stunning sunrises from our spacious, clean partial sea view room. The welcoming staff and fantastic breakfast options made our family stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommend for beach lovers!

I was really frustrated with the constant fly problem in our room. Even with the balcony door shut, we were killing flies daily. It felt like a battle—definitely not what you want during a vacation. Ugh!

Location right on the beach is fantastic. The playground nearby kept the kids entertained. Our room was a bit cramped.

The room had a nice beach vibe, and the view was stunning. The bed was very comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. the walls were paper-thin—conversations from the neighboring room were audible and disruptive. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable smell from the sewer right outside, which detracted from the experience. Temperature control was adequate, but the room lacked sitting chairs, making it less comfortable for seniors. basic hygiene needs weren't met during our stay; towel replenishment was inadequate. The cleanliness and updates inside were commendable, but maintenance issues, like broken floors, were concerning.

Cute blue fridge and microwave in a spacious, clean room added a nice touch. Breakfast had solid options, though I did spot some questionable food hygiene. An ideal spot to jump straight to the beach, and the pool was a relaxing escape. Staff were welcoming but a rigid policy regarding room changes was disappointing. The noise from dogs in nearby rooms affected sleep. A little remodeling love was evident, but the property felt more basic than I expected. Still, watching the sunrise from my balcony made up for a lot.

The room was so spacious and incredibly clean, I loved it! The staff were super friendly—shoutout to Karen for making our extended stay happen! Beach access and the outdoor pool made everything so fun, even with the cloudy weather!

Great location with direct beach access. I stayed on the third floor, and the view was satisfactory but likely better from the fourth. Rooms were decently appointed but cramped and in need of refreshing. The front staff excelled, attentive and friendly. Received clean towels daily from the desk. Room service was inconsistent—you might want to reconsider if planning a longer stay. The bathroom was spacious; however, a leak around the shower was concerning. Family-friendly atmosphere, yet the narrow hallways and noise from adjacent rooms can be an issue. Priced too high for what’s offered. At a lower rate, I’d consider returning, but improvements are needed.

The convenience of being just a stroll away from the beach is fantastic, offering easy access to the ocean and clean nearby bathrooms, along with a range of charming eateries like the Beachcombers Tiki Hut just a short walk away, making it perfect for weekend explorers like me; I enjoyed my clean and comfortable room with modern amenities, although I wish there were a few more hot breakfast options to start my day.
