The location was perfect, right in the heart of the historic district and just a short walk to the wharf. We enjoyed the peaceful patio and garden, perfect for relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving great restaurant recommendations and suggestions for activities. A wonderful inn for a weekend getaway!

Worst aspect was the view from the non-garden rooms, which overlooked the parking lot. Would have been nicer to have a more scenic view.

I had a wonderful stay at the Merritt House Inn. The location was absolutely perfect, with easy access to all the points of interest in the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. I enjoyed strolling the streets of Alvarado, Calle Principal, and Larkin, and the boutiques and shops were a delight. The proximity to the wharf and Estero Park was also a plus. The staff was friendly and helpful, ensuring that all of my needs were met during my stay.

Now, let me tell you about the room. While there were some minor issues, such as the heat not working and the sink not draining, the staff promptly resolved these and relocated me to a different room that better suited my taste.
