I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey. The hotel's inviting ambiance, central location, and friendly staff made it a memorable experience. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was a highlight, and the cozy rooms were a perfect retreat after exploring nearby landmarks such as the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail and the Stevenson House. The relaxing spa and wellness facilities added to our family bonding experience.

The spa treatment I had was like being wrapped in a warm, fluffy cloud. The skillful hands of the therapist transported me to a state of bliss, making me feel like I was melting into the massage table. It was truly a heavenly experience.

The hotel is super close to Old Fisherman's Wharf, where we enjoyed fresh seafood and checked out the cool shops. Plus, it's a quick walk to Cannery Row, which was awesome and totally Instagram-worthy!

If I had to ask for one thing, it would be for the hotel to have more fun activities for young people, like a lively pool party or a cool rooftop hangout spot with music and games. That would make the stay even more amazing!

The Portola's location was perfect for exploring, and the staff's attention made our meals truly enjoyable. Clean rooms with thoughtful amenities, natural light in the lobby, and efficient valet parking added to the pleasant stay. However, the water pressure in the shower was a major disappointment during our visit, impacting our comfort and experience, making it seem overpriced at checkout.

We had an awesome time at the hotel because it was right in the middle of everything, rooms were big, and they had a nice bar and restaurants. The staff was super cool, especially Naiomi at the concierge - she gave us rad tips on what to do and where to eat in town. The only thing is, the pictures online only show the lobby which looks fancy, but the rest of the hotel feels more businessy, and they charged $25 to use the pool! 🌊

we stayed at a hotel with a great location right on the warf. it was attached to one of the best crepe places in town and there were plenty of food and activities nearby. the staff were awesome, especially the room service. the warm cookies from reception on our arrival were a great touch. our dog loved the balcony and the fact that it was a pet-friendly hotel. being able to walk to the pier and the aquarium was a huge plus. the spa had helpful and experienced staff and the omelette chef at breakfast made delicious omelettes and was quite entertaining. overall, a lovely stay at Portola Hotel & Spa.

The value for our money was excellent, and the room was cozy and clean. The location was perfect, with easy access to all the activities we wanted to do. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the cookies they gave us upon arrival were a nice touch.

Everything was spot on.

This hotel is located right in the heart of the downtown area, making it very convenient to walk around and explore. The staff here is so friendly and helpful too, they made some special arrangements for my spouse's birthday. The room amenities are great as well with a fridge and all you need for a cuppa. I loved the terrace area as well, it provides a nice private space to relax outside. The fitness centre and the spa were a great plus, it had everything you need to stay refreshed. Lastly, I appreciated that they held onto my luggage prior to my check-in time.

This place is very family-friendly, I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling with kids.

I would have loved if the children of the staff were more proactive in offering assistance to senior guests, especially with luggage handling and providing information about senior-friendly activities in the area.
