Our stay at Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat was a peaceful and relaxing experience. The cabins were spacious and had great waterfront balconies where we could enjoy the beautiful birdlife. Despite being only a short distance from the lively Hervey Bay, the retreat felt secluded and away from it all. We appreciated the convenience of having supermarkets and restaurants just a few minutes' drive away. The online pictures were accurate, and the whole atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for in a getaway. The retreat offered a serene environment with plenty of wildlife to admire. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and tortoises daily, and even encountered a little snake on our porch. The owners were friendly and ensured that our cabins had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. we highly recommend Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat for a peaceful and nature-filled holiday.

The cabins are large and well-equipped with a kitchen stocked with all the essentials. The friendly staff go above and beyond to ensure your comfort and are always ready to assist.

I recently stayed at a lovely retreat surrounded by nature and wildlife. The location was perfect, right by a peaceful lake with turtles that I even had the opportunity to feed. And the best part? It was just a short distance from the beautiful beach and all the attractions of the area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly helpful. I also enjoyed hiring a bike and exploring the 16km beachfront riding path. a wonderful experience.

the cleanliness of the room was not up to standard in terms of broken tiles, dirty screens and floors, and black mould in the shower. While the location and amenities were great, the cleanliness and lack of Wi-Fi were negatives for us.

Loved the stunning views of Hervey Bay, saw dolphins and stingrays! Great options for dining, especially at Arkarra Gardens Café Restaurant and The Dock Bar and Restaurant. Snorkeling and guided tours added to the relaxing holiday experience.

Oh, the wifi was just stellar, I loved the constant disconnection and slow speed! Such a delightful way to stay in touch with the outside world.

The location of the retreat was great, just a short walk away from the waterfront. We loved being surrounded by the peaceful nature, birds, and the lake. It was a nice change of scenery away from the city hustle. the spacious villas had all the basics and were comfortable. One of the highlights was sitting on the verandah and enjoying the tranquility.

There were a few minor issues that could be improved upon. the lack of decent cutlery and towel racks in the bathroom were a bit inconvenient.
