The canoeing on the river was such a fun experience! The check-in process was quite slow, though, which was a bit frustrating.

The Black Orchid Resort offers a spacious Double Room with a River View, perfect for a relaxing getaway. While the restaurant served tasty dinners, some items were unavailable during my stay. The friendly staff were helpful, but the room could benefit from updates like new paint and improved seating. Suitable for families seeking a quiet retreat near nature.

The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Enjoyed the evening entertainment, but the property felt a bit rundown. Kayaking on the river was a highlight.

Right when we got there, folks were warm as a fresh biscuit, made us feel right at home. The view of the river at sunset? Spectacular! Managed to hear them howler monkeys, which added a lively backdrop. Our room was clean and cozy, perfect for our stay. Wish we coulda stayed another night, but had to catch a flight next day.

But beware, those mosquitoes are like little ninjas! And the property could use a little sprucing up — it's not a mansion yet!

Waking up to the howler monkeys' calls and seeing them in the trees was a delightful surprise. However, the limited kayak options and slippery dock detracted from full enjoyment of the riverside activities.

However, the check-in felt like waiting for a sloth to cross the road, and trust me, the water pressure could use a pep talk! Not exactly a spa treatment in the shower!

Set by the river, this little gem is an avian paradise. waking up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys is unforgettable. The spacious room boasted ample storage and a lovely deck perfect for relaxation. Dining options included excellent local cuisine, with the added treat of afternoon tea. Unfortunately, the bed was less than comfortable, and the internet was out for a day during my stay. Also, be prepared for mosquitoes, a minor nuisance in such a beautiful location.

The lush grounds and river views were stunning. breakfast included delicious pastries and fry jacks. The pool area with cabanas was perfect for relaxation. Staff's attentiveness made the experience memorable.

The restaurant menu could benefit from more variety. a few maintenance touches here and there would enhance the overall experience.
