I loved scheduling a boating trip to the island retreat of Ilha Grande Bay. Paraty's cuisine is so interesting. The historical center is such a main point of reference. The amenities at Che Lagarto Paraty are just fabulous - airport shuttle, poolside bar, and terrace. And the complimentary wifi is a nice touch! Oh, and playing billiards in the games room was a blast. The proximity to Praia do Portal and the Casa da Cultura Colonial Mansion was so convenient.

The bathroom could use an upgrade. And the breakfast was a bit limited, no cheese or ham.

I stayed at Che Lagarto in Paraty with a group of friends for a few nights and we had a great time! The hostel had a lively atmosphere with always people around, though it did feel more like a youth hostel. The hotel-style key passes for the doors were a unique touch. The breakfast was decent and there was a nice atmosphere in the hostel overall. The bar, pool, and garden area were pretty cool, with live music and a great selection of caipirinhas. There were also multiple wi-fi spots throughout the hostel, which was handy.

The hostel staff, Raiane and Alex, were the bomb! We originally planned to stay for 2 nights, but ended up staying for a whole week because it was super lit. The boat tour they organized was off the charts, and we also had a blast partying at the Samba in the town square on Mondays. Trindade's beaches were insane too, and the buses to get there were just a 5-minute walk from the hostel. We had the best time ever!

If there's one thing we could ask for to make our experience even more awesome, it would be to have more party games or activities in the hostel. Everything else was on point, but it would have been great to have some exciting games or events to amp up the party vibes.
