This hotel is a hidden gem nestled in a quiet and secluded location. The surroundings are simply breathtaking, with the sounds of nature filling the air - the hooting of owls, the yodelling of coyotes, and the abundant birdlife. The pool is a refreshing oasis, perfect for those hot afternoons, and the owner is incredibly friendly and hospitable. Floating in a tube on the nearby river is a must-do activity, offering a cool escape from the summer heat. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with excellent linens ensuring a restful night's sleep. The breakfast spread is varied and delicious, providing a great start to the day.

The lack of recent wines available for tasting may disappoint wine enthusiasts.

My recent stay at Similkameen Wild Resort & Winery Retreat was an absolute delight. The grounds were stunning, with a beautiful swimming pool and a relaxing hot tub. The room I stayed in was impeccably clean and the bathroom was modern and had an amazing shower. I particularly enjoyed the balcony overlooking the landscape, where I could unwind and take in the surroundings. The self-serve continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise and had a good variety of options. I also appreciated that the resort is dog-friendly, as my furry friend loved exploring the river during our walks. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this retreat for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.

what an incredible stay at the resort! after previously staying in cawston, i was blown away by how similkameen wild resort & winery retreat exceeded my expectations. from the comfortable and quiet room to the stunning views from the balcony, every detail was perfect. the hot tub sessions under the starry sky and watching the moon slip over the mountains were unforgettable. roger, the host, was exceptional. a truly peaceful and beautiful property with all the amenities you could ask for - including a pool and river access. the breakfast included had a great variety, and the fact that it's dog-friendly was a huge bonus. the owners were delightful and accommodating. i wish i had more time to enjoy this magical place!

There were a few areas where improvements could be made. More BBQ's should be offered, especially during peak seasons, and mosquitoes were an issue when housekeeping left doors open.

The cell coverage outside the hotel office is poor, making it difficult to communicate upon arrival.

The outdoor dining area with propane BBQs was also a great addition. I was even pleasantly surprised when the owner offered to let me charge my EV on the property. The beautiful surroundings, including the gardens and views of the mountains, provided a lovely backdrop for my stay. The pool was a highlight, and I thoroughly enjoyed cooling off and lounging by the poolside bar. my time at Similkameen Wild Resort & Winery Retreat was absolutely delightful, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.
