I recently stayed at Alva Hotel in Hong Kong for a few nights. The reception area was stunning and had a cozy seating area, along with a convenient coffee shop. I was impressed to see that they had a locked-up area for guests to store their own bikes. The hotel is situated next to a beautiful river tributary, with a park and promenade right across the road. The park even had an adventure cycle course, which would have been perfect for my kids when they were younger. There was a bridge that took us over to Shek Mun MTR station and a small commercial area with a variety of restaurants. Fortune Plaza was also nearby, offering an abundance of dining options, coffee shops, and shops. Although it was a pleasant 30-minute stroll along the river to Sha Tin New Town Plaza, having all these restaurants on the hotel's doorstep was a bonus. The room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, featuring a spacious bathroom with a fantastic rain head and side sprays shower unit. I particularly enjoyed the relax chair and footstool in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. The breakfast buffet offered a nice variety of options to start the day. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning.

The hotel boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surroundings. You can enjoy the picturesque scenery while staying environmentally conscious, as they promote sustainability by minimizing plastic consumption. Although the hotel is a bit far from the nearest mass transportation, the luxurious room, clean bathroom, attentive service, and delicious breakfast make up for it. The hotel also offers facilities such as an incredible TV with an iPad for room control and entertainment, making your stay even more enjoyable.

The check-in process can be a bit time-consuming due to long lines, which can be frustrating for guests.

loved the new property in the industrial/residential area, easy to reach by MTR. Helpful staff, free bike rental. Perfect for exploring the northeast of HK. Clean room with no noise, updated amenities. Housekeeping staff and front desk were nice and spoke English.

No weird smells, good air conditioning. Nice breakfast. Modern design, efficient reception and room staff, close to subway, supermarket, cafeteria, and laundry. Filtered water in corridors for sustainability.

The value for money was excellent, with stylish and new facilities. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to rectify any issues. The location was convenient, close to a shopping center and fruit market, and easily accessible by public transportation. The gym and outdoor swimming pool were great, and as a vegan, I was pleased to find a takeaway vegan restaurant nearby.

The morning meal could have been improved with a choice of teabags instead of a communal pot of tea.
