I had a fantastic stay at a chic and lively hotel near the international area in the center of the city. It was the perfect base for exploring Centre Shanghai, and Xintiandi had a great appeal for foreigners. Despite not being focused on exploring Chinese culture, after spending a few days with Chinese people, the hotel felt like a home away from home.
