We had the most incredible experience at Heliconia Island. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful surroundings and the abundance of wildlife. One morning, as we enjoyed our breakfast, we were treated to a stunning view of a family of howler monkeys right outside our window. It was a truly magical sight. The owners were incredibly helpful and arranged unique activities for us, such as a visit to a macaw farm and rafting with a local company. The omelet we had for breakfast was delicious and the view from the dining area was simply breathtaking. we had a fantastic stay and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a memorable and nature-filled getaway.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this charming bed and breakfast. The beautiful grounds were a paradise for bird and wildlife lovers, and I was captivated by the stunning Heliconias in the big garden. The breakfasts were delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the fabulous bird show during breakfast. I even got to see some species of birds that I had never seen before. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and they even provided me with a microwave when I needed it. Despite the lack of A/C, the fan kept me cool throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to explore the surrounding area and immerse themselves in nature.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. the location was absolutely stunning, nestled in the heart of the jungle with a river running alongside the property. The views from the rooms were breathtaking, thanks to the enormous windows that showcased the marvelous garden. Secondly, the service and staff were exceptional. Pierre, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, even organizing a unique excursion to a local farm where we could bathe under waterfalls. Lastly, the breakfast included was a real treat, with delicious homemade bread and a fabulous bird show right outside the dining area. I couldn't have asked for a better value for my money.

We stayed at Heliconia Island for three nights and had a fantastic time. Henke and Carolien were incredibly friendly and attentive. The fresh fruit they put out attracted a wide variety of beautiful birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers like us. The hotel is surrounded by stunning nature, with howler monkeys visible from our bed and a beautiful river where we even went swimming. The flower gardens were exceptional and the breakfast, although not a huge buffet, was delicious. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located near a plethora of activities like river tours and nature hikes.

My stay at Heliconia Island was absolutely delightful. I spent a couple of nights there and it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The bungalows were private and extremely comfortable, and the view from the ocean front villa was simply breathtaking. The daily cleaning service ensured that the room was always immaculate. The highlight of my stay was definitely the wildlife. The gardens were teeming with a variety of birds, including toucans, and I even had the pleasure of seeing a sloth in one of the trees. The birdwatching at the feeders was a truly rewarding experience, with a diverse population of birds constantly visiting. For nature lovers and bird enthusiasts, this place is a must-stay.

The location is mind-blowing, with endless activities nearby like birdwatching and rafting. The whole place is well-maintained, with outstanding grounds and knowledgeable staff. Plus, a viewing platform for bird-watching, cushioned seating areas, and a laid-back atmosphere. A truly amazing experience!

The location was perfect, surrounded by a beautiful forest and with a roofed reception building where I could relax and enjoy the view of the garden. The room was cozy and the bathroom was clean, providing all the necessary amenities. The service was excellent, with a friendly and considerate staff. The breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of options. I loved being able to sleep in such a peaceful environment.

We spent Easter at a hotel surrounded by lush gardens and abundant wildlife. the property had multiple trails for hiking, which led us to various animals such as howler monkeys and sloths. the breakfast was rich and tasty, with fresh fruit and homemade bread. We appreciated the helpful and friendly staff who were always ready to offer advice on nearby attractions. the river access was a big plus, as we were able to swim and relax while enjoying the scenic views.

Sadly, the room was small and the bathroom needed some upgrading. It gave off a tired and worn-out vibe that was not reflective of the overall charm of the property.

We got great value for our money at Heliconia Island Bed & Breakfast. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had the best shower in Costa Rica. The property's beautiful gardens and river were a delight to explore. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Crossed a bridge into a jungle paradise with nature sounds. Restaurant: perfect for enjoying nature's beauty. Discovered waterfalls, exotic plants, toucans, hummingbirds, monkeys, sloths. The magical island in the rainforest was an unforgettable experience. Enjoyed a leisurely walk among the massive heliconia collection. The lowland rainforest walk was a bio-diverse adventure. The tour on transforming cacao into chocolate was delicious. Sarapiqui was a lush area in Costa Rica.

Oh, how I loved not having dinner facilities! Such a joy to order food from another restaurant and have it reheated.

We had an incredible time staying at this beautiful island retreat. The well-maintained gardens are a paradise for nature lovers, with over 80 species of Heliconia plants, attracting a wide variety of birds. As vegetarians, we were delighted to find fresh fruit provided to attract the birds and a healthy breakfast included. The location is lovely and the owner's suggestion to visit nearby Catarata de Toro was spot-on!
