Boruca is the best affordable hotel in Tamarindo.

Located just a short walk from the beach, this hotel was in a prime spot for exploring the area. the central location made it easy to find plenty of restaurants and the overall atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. the pool was a nice feature for relaxing and the breakfast options were varied and tasty.

There were several aspects of my stay that left much to be desired. the rooms had thin walls, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep with all the noise from outside and neighboring rooms.

I recently stayed at Hotel Boruca for 15 days in Tamarindo. The family who runs the hotel is incredibly kind and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. They even booked a shuttle for my next destination and served me breakfast earlier on my departure day. The staff, including Genisus at the reception, Rebecca the cook, and the cleaners Marie and Mary. The rooms were clean, the pool was great, and the location was ideal. I felt welcomed and would definitely return for another stay.

The hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms were clean and spacious with fresh sheets and towels. the hot shower was a nice touch after a long day. the AC worked well and was much needed in the heat. the location of the hotel is perfect, close to the beach and restaurants. the staff at Boruca were amazing, always friendly and helpful. They made me feel like part of their family during my 15-day stay. the breakfasts were delicious and the pool was a great place to relax and meet fellow travelers. a fantastic experience.

Despite the dated decor, everything was well-maintained. The hot shower was a refreshing treat, and the efficient AC was much appreciated. The wifi worked well most of the time, which was great for staying connected. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach and various restaurants. Though we didn't dine at the hotel restaurant, I heard it had a high rating. The only minor noise came from the restaurant but it was quiet by 10:30 pm.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.
