I recently stayed at the conveniently located Alajuela City Hotel & Guest House for both the beginning and end of my Costa Rica trip. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and spacious. I loved the airy atmosphere and the beautiful front and back gardens where I could relax with a book. The breakfast, served in a lovely open patio surrounded by trees and flowers, was delicious and included fresh fruit, banana bread.

Great location! Being right in the mix of a city center was amazing. We spent our days wandering around and the hotel was just a block away from the plaza central. We loved exploring the market and hanging out with the locals in the plaza. Another advantage was the complimentary breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food served. The smoothie, yogurt parfait, eggs, and toast were delicious and gave us a great start to our day.

The noise. We stayed in a room near the busy road and it was quite loud.
