The value for money at San Rafael Ecolodge was excellent, and the room was comfortable and beautifully renovated. The location was a bit far from restaurants and bars, but the staff made up for it with their exceptional care and personalized service.

The breakfast experience would have been better with some supplied cutlery and a cutting board.

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly, ensuring that we had a fantastic stay. The meals served were absolutely delicious, and the hotel is situated in a stunning, peaceful area surrounded by a beautiful garden. We were able to spot various wildlife, including green tree frogs, wild turkey, and toucans. The hotel had excellent facilities, including a refreshing pool and a cozy patio for relaxation. Additionally, the hotel provided options for transportation and assisted us in arranging a trip to the nearby hotsprings. The location in the village was perfect, as it allowed us to experience the tranquility of nature while being easily accessible to amenities and attractions.

Luis and Giovanni were incredibly kind and generous hosts, treating us like family during our stay. The villa and the shared kitchen and dining room were spotless and well-maintained. The location, just a short distance from the city, offered a peaceful and serene environment with beautiful landscaping. We loved the natural breezes flowing through the open windows, making air conditioning unnecessary. The hosts organized fantastic day trips for us and even arranged transportation. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and the owners were always willing to help and accommodate our needs. The ecolodge itself was like a tropical paradise, with comfortable accommodations amidst a lush forest, a soothing stream, and a refreshing swimming pool integrated into the outdoor lounge area. The wifi, recently upgraded to fiberoptic, was lightning fast. All in all, our experience at this hidden gem surpassed our expectations and left us feeling incredibly satisfied.

I recently stayed at a lovely ecolodge near La Fortuna and Arenal called San Rafael. Giovanni and Louis, the hosts, treated me like family and were incredibly helpful with all my plans. The property itself was beautiful, surrounded by nature, and filled with a variety of bird species. The food was delicious and the overall experience was amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of my holiday.

What a fantastic place to stay! The owner and staff were amazing. They did everything within human power to make our stay as pleasant and as enjoyable as possible. We had the opportunity to see so much wildlife on the property - including tucans and Rafelito, a sloth - it was so special. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with family or multiple people in the group. Without hesitation highly recommend it. I had a wonderful time at this eco-friendly hotel. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and the wildlife sightings were unforgettable. I will definitely be recommending this place to others.

Though there were some minor issues with the WiFi signal in our room and the occasional interruption of hot water, they were quickly resolved by the attentive staff. The location was a bit secluded, but it was a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the beautiful Costa Rican nature. Giovanni was extremely helpful in planning our activities and all of his recommendations were spot on. the staff was amazing, the wifi was excellent, and we loved the pool.

Guests have easy access to various activities and can easily navigate their way around. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with spotless bathrooms. The service provided by the hosts, Giovanni and Luis, is exceptional. They go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay and are knowledgeable about the local culture and attractions. Breakfast is delicious and there are additional facilities like a shared kitchen and dining room for guests to use.

The noise from roosters and barking dogs in the morning can be a bit bothersome for light sleepers.
