They even provided a delicious breakfast. We felt safe and secure and would definitely stay there again. the hostel was within walking distance of the market and other attractions in Otavalo.

The family that owns this beautiful place is incredibly friendly, providing a small introduction into Quechua, the indigenous language. They are the perfect starting point to learn about the life and culture of indigenous people in Ecuador. The location is ideal, sitting at the brink of the city of Otavalo, allowing you to easily explore both the famous market and the rural communities. The view of the three volcanoes flanking Otavalo from the rooms is spectacular. The rooms are beautifully decorated with touches of locally crafted pieces. The owners treated me like family, accommodating all my requests and driving me out for dinner. The hospitality and warmth of José and Matilde are truly exceptional. I highly recommend Hostal Curinan as a base to explore the area around Otavalo.
