Spent Easter break in a medieval castle and it was a unique experience! Our host was friendly and gave us great recommendations for local food nearby. the castle was beautifully restored, with stunning views from the windows and an interesting history to learn about. We enjoyed a comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was included, and the coffee was strong and delicious. Great location, only a short drive away from nearby French villages that were worth exploring.

Although the castle had beautiful gardens, they were a bit small and crowded as the weather was nice, making it difficult to fully enjoy them. As it is a medieval castle, it was not suited for those with mobility issues, with steep stairs and narrow passageways.

My stay at Chateau De Mauriac was absolutely extraordinary. The castle-museum is filled with personality and beautiful, unique pieces of art. I had the chance to stay in a Deluxe Suite, complete with a charming tiny kitchen and a large living room/exhibition hall. The castle's history, dating back to the Knights Templars, was shared with love by the owner himself. The surrounding area is tucked away in old, medieval villages, offering a stunning and off-the-beaten-track experience. The entire stay felt like a bucket list experience, and I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend this hotel.
