This hotel is located in an unexpectedly interesting town, and we were pleasantly surprised with our weekend stay. the ambience of the hotel was just right with a handsome building set back off the street. We particularly liked the excellent breakfast and how hard the staff were trying to make it a success. the restaurant is top-notch, and we felt very confident about the food because the chef came out to chat with diners.

While our experience was mostly enjoyable, a couple of issues detracted from it. the castle gardens in town, which we hoped to visit, were locked earlier than advertised.
