i almost gave this review a better rating, but then i remembered the loud guests that ruined my beauty sleep and the awkwardly set up room. i was definitely expecting a special upgrade for my troubles, but alas, no such luck. how hard is it to provide a complimentary gesture? such a disappointment!

We loved the fantastic location right in front of the main square, perfect for exploring the vibrant old town and enjoying the waterfront promenade. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and our room was clean and cozy with a great view.

The stair access could be tricky, especially for those with heavy luggage.

Great location for exploring the vibrant old town.

My stay was quite disappointing. The noise from street cleaners started at dawn, which kept me from having a restful morning. Additionally, the room was cramped and the bathroom was incredibly small, making it hard to move around while showering. The toiletry facilities were less than ideal as they felt outdated and hard to use comfortably. Even the beds were uncomfortably hard, which made sleeping difficult, and I woke up with back pain. Lastly, I was apprehensive about leaving my luggage at reception, as it seemed they didn't keep a close eye on it, raising concerns over potential tampering or theft.

Superb view of Massena square, daily cleaning service, unique hotel layout blending with residential block

The corridor and stairs to the first floor were poorly lit. black-painted stairs make it hard for those with visual impairments!!! The room was cramped with limited storage options, and the bathroom was barely functional!!! No elevator access for handicapped guests or those with heavy luggage!!! The soundproofing was practically nonexistent, allowing every street noise to infiltrate the room!!!

la mer is in a fantastic spot, just steps away from the beautiful old town and the waterfront. the reception was super friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. plus, the room was clean and comfortable, great value for such a prime location!
