We enjoyed exploring the numerous hiking opportunities nearby and the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was superb, offering a wide variety of delicious food options. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable.

One drawback was the absence of air conditioning, fridge, and coffee machine in the rooms. However, the hotel provided fans and hot water heaters on request, and the delicious coffee at the buffet made up for the lack of a coffee machine.

the Kleinhuis Hotel Mellingburger Schleuse exceeded my expectations in every way. the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the facilities were even more beautiful than the online pictures. the highlight for me was the charming, typical north-german thatched roof, which added a unique touch. the fitness room was impressive, it felt like a proper gym, and the bed in my room was incredibly comfortable. I also appreciated the cleanliness and newly renovated bathroom. Despite being a historical house, there was no sign of dampness, and the windows and heating worked perfectly. It was also surprisingly quiet, even during a busy holiday weekend. Lastly, there was plenty of free parking available, which was a bonus.

The hotel doesn't offer some basic amenities such as a coffee machine or a fridge in the room. if you arrive late, it might be difficult to find transportation to the hotel as public transportation is not available at night.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel and we were thoroughly impressed with our experience. The location of this place is absolutely stunning, nestled on the banks of a river with lots of walking trails to explore. It provided the perfect balance of being in nature while still being conveniently close to a big shopping center in Hamburg, which was just a short distance away.
