I recently stayed at this hostel in Matala for 5 nights. The hostel team was incredibly welcoming and made my stay comfortable. The room had a spacious balcony with a lovely view. The bed was extremely comfortable, especially the pillows. The hostel had a well-equipped kitchen and a pool area. The location was great, with easy access to the village center and beautiful beaches. The volunteers at the hostel created a welcoming atmosphere and played great music in the mornings. I would definitely recommend this hostel to others.

We had a fantastic time at this hostel in Crete. The staff at this Matala accommodation were exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The room was spotless and had a large balcony with great A/C. The pool was amazing and the perfect place to relax. The hostel had a friendly and fun vibe, and we especially loved the fact that it was the only one on the island with a swimming pool. The location, about a 15-minute walk from the main area, was just right for us. a great base for exploring the area and a place we would definitely book again if we return to Crete.

Clean and well-maintained facilities, including a great pool and comfortable amenities. Friendly and professional staff members, such as Jacopo, Cyprien, Daiga, and Apollo. Adorable dogs to welcome you. Rooms with air conditioning. Large and well-equipped kitchen. Spacious dorms with curtains for privacy. Good compromise for staying in Matala, with a small balcony in the room.

The hostel even has a swimming pool, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

The Matala Hostel in Crete was fantastic! Friendly staff, great value for money, clean and perfect location near the village. Unique with a swimming pool and friendly Latvian. Captured the spirit and vibe of Matala and Southern Crete.

Nothing to fault.

I loved the laid back atmosphere and friendly staff at this hostel. The beds with curtains provided extra privacy, and the kitchen was spacious with plenty of room to store food. The main area was nice, and the bar area looked like a lot of fun.

It felt like a home away from home, no complaints whatsoever.

Everything I needed for a chilled vacay: kitchen, lounges, bar, pool. Mama Roukounaki shop nearby for natural goodies. Live music scene at night. Stunning sunsets & starry skies. South coast has fab beaches & rich history.

The hostel was extremely clean, even cleaner than some 5-star hotels I've stayed in. The staff was friendly and professional, always willing to help with any problems or needs. The location was great, just a short walk to the beach and close to the town center. Another advantage was the spacious common areas, including a well-equipped and impeccably clean kitchen.

The private toilets were small and the 4-bunk bed rooms didn't have an outside view. there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms and the Wi-Fi in the common area was unreliable.
