Located just outside the town center, we were able to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere while still being within a short distance of all the attractions. The tuktuks were readily available and affordable, so getting around was never a problem. The best part was the value for money - we got a private room with all the comforts of a hotel at the same price as hostels downtown. we highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, hospitality, and excellent value.

I got great value for my money at Hotel El Sol. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a hot shower - such a luxury! The location was perfect, just a short walk to town and the port, and I felt safe even when coming back late at night. The staff, a lovely Japanese guy and his Guatemalan wife, were incredibly helpful and friendly.

The only thing that could make the breakfast options better would be more variety.

location a bit out of the way

the bunk room was exactly what we expected, and the hostel was impeccably clean. the owner lent us a padlock for our locker, and the WiFi was excellent with no deadspots. the common areas, especially the kitchen, were good, and the rooftop view was beautiful. the owner, a Japanese man, was extremely nice and quick to assist with bookings. the room was amazing, especially for the price, with a generously sized private bathroom. a great hotel in a peaceful location.

I recently stayed at Hotel El Sol for a week while exploring the area. The hostel was fantastic, with a friendly owner and staff who made me feel welcome. The place was super clean and cozy, and what sets it apart from other places is that all the windows had mosquito nets. I had no issues with mosquitoes and slept incredibly well. The dorm room was spacious with tables and curtains for privacy. The wifi was good, the shower was hot, and they even offered reasonably priced Japanese food, laundry services, and printing/copy services. Plus, they had a great deal on paragliding!
