We had a great time at this hotel. The location was beautiful, nestled in a remote valley with stunning views of sunsets. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a really cozy bed. The staff were incredibly kind and generous, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel also had a hot tub and provided robes for guests.

The gravel road leading to the hotel was a bit difficult to drive on, and the parking lot was also gravel, making it tricky to wheel our suitcases.

The breakfast buffet was incredibly varied, with continental and vegan options available. It felt like a food lover's paradise.

We got incredible value for our money at Basalt! The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and had a breathtaking view of the mountains. The location was perfect, with beautiful countryside and mountain views. The staff treated us like family, making us feel so welcome and even making us coffee to go when we had an early morning tour.

The only thing that could have made the breakfast selection better would be a wider variety of pastries.

Our stay at Basalt was simply amazing. The location was perfect for watching the aurora, as it was quiet and remote. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the northern lights from the hot tub outside. The room was impeccably clean and the breakfast had a delicious variety of options. The owner was incredibly kind, even lending us slippers and bathrobes for the hot tub. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return.

The best aspects of our stay were the breathtaking views of the mountains and countryside. The location of the hotel was perfect, nestled in a beautiful part of Iceland. The modern and spotlessly clean rooms made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We especially loved the smart TV in our room, perfect for unwinding with some Netflix after a long day of travel and tours. And the staff, particularly Hjordis, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They even made us coffee to go when we had to leave early for a snorkelling tour. Truly a wonderful experience.

That we could only book one night. We were disappointed to leave after such a short stay because everything was just perfect.

Our family had an amazing time hiking around Borgarnes - the scenery was breathtaking and the trails were perfect for all ages. The kids loved exploring the beautiful nature and spotting wildlife. The hotel's location was ideal, providing easy access to the hiking trails and offering stunning views of the surroundings. We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy our family outdoor adventures.

For families with children, it would be great to have a small playground or outdoor area where the kids can play and burn off some energy.
