We loved being in the heart of the Sassi, with incredible views all around. the cave experience and imagining what it was like in Matera back in the day made our stay truly special. It was so convenient to walk everywhere from the hotel. the rooms were spread out, providing privacy and reducing noise. the room was clean and spacious with heating in the bath. the comfortable bed and delicious breakfast buffet added to our great experience. the staff were super kind and helpful, making us feel welcome. we highly recommend this unique experience in this beautiful city.

The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. the breakfast was delicious, especially the soft and moist focaccia. the hotel's location was ideal, within walking distance of everything and offering great views.

The wifi didn't reach our room and the humidity in the Sassi-style rooms was quite high, even with the exhaust fans. the room seemed to be in need of some maintenance, with a non-functioning TV remote, a tear in the bedsheet, and closed cupboards in the bathroom with water dripping from inside.
