We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Matera. The location in the heart of the city was perfect, with a great selection of restaurants nearby. The view from our room's window of the historic precinct was awe-inspiring, and the balcony provided the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided a delicious variety of fresh fruit and sweet and savory focaccia. the best aspects of this hotel were its central location, cleanliness, and friendly staff.

Our stay at Sassi was a unique and unforgettable experience. The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town, surrounded by the incredible scenery of Matera. Our room, which was cave-like, had its own charm and added to the authenticity of our stay. The views from the hotel, especially from the outside breakfast area, were simply breathtaking. Speaking of breakfast, it was delicious and offered a variety of options to choose from. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind experience in Matera.

Unique hotel with stunning city views. Upgraded room had great views too. Breakfast on veranda with cappuccino was exceptional. Outdoor seating area was nice. Staff gave great restaurant recommendation. Hotel built into rock, clean and spacious rooms. Strong AC. Good breakfast with fresh fruit.

The hotel is located in the heart of the historic Sassi district, offering a unique experience in a cave-like setting. The rooms provide a beautiful view of the village below, especially those on the lower levels with terraces overlooking the Sassi. The attention to detail is evident, with basic amenities provided and a lovely motherly lady serving great coffee during breakfast.

Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

This unique hotel captures the essence of Matera with its breathtaking views and immersive location. The upgraded room offered stunning vistas of the city, while breakfast on the veranda with a morning cappuccino was exceptional. The suite's rooftop terrace provided sweeping views of Matera.

Felt right at home, no reason to complain.

Nothing, all excellent.

Great experience staying in an unique room inside the rock, like most houses in the area. The room was spacious and had a small balcony with beautiful views of the city and the Duomo. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing a good breakfast for guests. The location was key, being in the middle of the pedestrian zone and close to public parking.

The lower level room I initially stayed in was not up to standard. It had a damp, moldy smell, water on the floor, and damp sheets.
