my recent stay in hakone was unforgettable. on a golf trip, i chose to stay at a traditional hotel with incredible history. fujiya offered spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and a convenient location. it truly exceeded my expectations.

Disappointing dining options.

Just had a wonderful stay at the charming Fujiya Hotel in Hakone. Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the beautiful historical atmosphere of the building. The garden with its ponds and greenhouses was a delightful place to explore. Convenient location near the station and two convenience stores. Spacious rooms and amazing mountain views. The staff were incredibly helpful and breakfast was delicious with a mix of Western and Japanese options. A unique hotel that stands apart from the usual corporate choices.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff at Fujiya went above and beyond to make us feel like valued guests. The historic main building is stunning, and even though the newer addition lacks the same character, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and there are even hiking trails nearby. The highlight of our stay was definitely the exceptional service and attention to detail. The staff made sure we felt at home, and the onsen and top-notch facilities added to the overall experience. It truly felt like stepping back in time to a more gracious era.

Nothing, no complaints at all.

This hotel is an exclusive haven and exceeded our expectations. The Spa & wellness centre was fabulous, providing rejuvenation and relaxation. The private facilities were perfectly clean and well-equipped, and the indoor swimming pool was heated and set in stunning gardens. The bar/ lounge area was sophisticated and boasted an extensive wine list. Our massage was exquisite. The location was quiet and secluded, but within easy reach of local hot springs.

The wait staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, but notably, the quality of the food did not match the high standard of the hotel.

The location was absolutely perfect for us, as we were able to easily access all the main tourist attractions in the area without any hassle. The hotel grounds were also very stunning, with beautiful natural hot springs that were very relaxing. We also appreciated the fact that the hotel staff were friendly and always willing to help us with any questions we had.

We did notice that some parts of the hotel looked a bit outdated and could benefit from a bit of renovation. The room we stayed in was also a bit cramped for our taste, but we understand that this is a common issue in many hotels in the area.

This hotel is nestled in a serene location, with a large pond where you can admire the graceful coy swimming peacefully. It's also conveniently located near several museums and art galleries, perfect for art enthusiasts. The hotel is just a short walk from the lake and the train station, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.

The dining options within the hotel can be quite pricey in comparison to other nearby establishments.

Nothing that I didn't like.

The hotel's location by a beautiful garden creates a peaceful place to rest after a long day exploring the national park. The rooms are spacious and come with hot spring water in the bathtubs. The staff is wonderfully attentive and the breakfast in the Wisteria room is good. The hotel is easy to access with clear sign posts.

The hotel lacks wall decoration, giving the corridors an odd institutional feel.

What an amazing place! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the free shuttle service to the train station was a lifesaver. The traditional Japanese rooms are a must-try, and having hot spring water in every room was a unique and luxurious experience. The hotel itself is like stepping into an Agatha Christie novel, with beautiful gardens and multiple activities for the kids. The service was excellent, and the antique touches throughout the hotel added to its charm. Don't miss the delicious food at the Japanese restaurant, and make sure to visit the Victoria Bar!
