As women traveling alone, we loved the free onsen hot bath that the owner drove us to and from. The free breakfast buffet had a wide range of choices, making it a great start to our day.

Stayed at an incredible budget accommodation in Kyoto. The hospitality at Guest House Ga-Jyun was top-notch! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the owner, a great human, genuinely enjoys hosting travelers. The breakfast spread was plentiful and delicious, with a wide variety of options. And the best part? The owner took us on a free trip to his private sento, giving us an authentic experience. They even had a cheap and reliable washer/dryer, a cute dog to pet, and a massage chair to relax in. The location was great too, and I can't wait to go back!

For the price we paid, our stay at this hostel was definitely worth it. The room was cozy and comfortable, and we loved the traditional Japanese building. The location was convenient, with many tourist destinations nearby. The staff was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Miwa-san, Ichiro, Chihiro, and Junko-san treated us like friends instead of customers. We even got to pet and play with their adorable dog, Jiro. The staff went above and beyond to help us, providing useful advice and recommendations for nearby restaurants. We also had the opportunity to meet other friendly travelers during our stay, especially during the Friday night party. We already miss this place and can't wait to come back.

The only thing that would have made the breakfast even better is having more variety in the menu.

I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled upon this incredible guesthouse in Kyoto. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The language barrier was never an issue as they spoke fluent English and were always happy to assist. The complimentary breakfast was a feast, offering a wide variety of dishes including eggs, bread, rice, and even doughnuts! And to top it all off, they hosted a surprise party with free food and drinks on the Friday night I was there. What a treat! The room I stayed in was cozy and had everything I needed. The small balcony would have been a great place to relax if it hadn't been for the rain. The bathroom and shower area were clean and spacious, and the heated toilet with a water-spraying nozzle was a nice touch. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast, which was a bonus. The location of the guesthouse was perfect for exploring on foot. There were temples and shrines nearby, as well as a large shopping area just a short walk away. And for JR pass holders like me, the subway station was conveniently close. my stay at Guest House Ga-Jyun exceeded all expectations. The amazing staff, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations made it an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Kyoto.
