The hotel had a great location, just a short walk from the train station. This made it really convenient for exploring the area and taking day trips. the traditional Japanese rooms were a unique experience, and I loved using the onsen in the hotel. It was incredibly relaxing and a must-try while staying here.

Sleeping on the tatami floor took some getting used to, especially if you're used to a more plush mattress. the meals provided were a bit disappointing.

We had an amazing Easter break at a traditional Japanese hotel by the river. We loved the stunning river view from our room – it was truly breathtaking! the room was clean and cozy with a surprising element of magic when the staff turned it into a private dining room and a sleeping area. We also enjoyed the complimentary yukata and the private onsen that was reasonably priced at yen2000 for 50 minutes. the hotel was situated in a convenient location- within close proximity to train and bus stops and a few restaurants- perfect for exploring the surrounding area.

That we felt a bit uncomfortable watching the elderly staff laying up the futons and tables for us- we really wished that we could help them out, but they kept insisting that we relax and take it easy. this was a great experience, and we highly recommend a stay in a ryokan – it is definitely worth trying out at least once for the unique experience.

This hotel was fantastic! It had an unbelievable location, right in front of the river and opposite the train station. We loved our room with its own private tub on the balcony. The open bath was amazing and the amenities were superb. Plus, the breakfast included local dishes that were so delicious.

For my recent stay in Hakone, I booked a private open air onsen at Suimeisou for only 2000yen. It was the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and forest for 50 minutes. The hotel's location, just a two-minute walk from the main station, was excellent. The service staff, all of whom were older and friendly, made our stay even more enjoyable with their good English skills. The room had a stunning view of the lake and the dinner served in the private dining room was a highlight, offering a wide range of amazing food. the facilities were clean and spotless, and the experience was well worth the money.

The in-room meals are a traditional Japanese feast, and the onsen is a treat. Enjoy the public onsen with an indoor and outdoor section and the private onsen for an intimate experience. The futons keep you toasty on chilly nights, and the amenities are plentiful.

While the hotel is quiet and peaceful, the surrounding shops close quite early, so plan ahead for food and activities.
