Incredibly kind and helpful staff, traditional and welcoming room, beautiful Mountain View, short walk to skiing, quiet property, enjoyable onsen experience.

The location of the hotel was excellent, with easy access to the gondola and other Happo slopes. It was conveniently situated right in the center of town, close to the bus station and various restaurants. The room was comfortable and had traditional Japanese decor, providing a unique and authentic experience. The staff were friendly and provided helpful service.

The rooms did not have en-suite bathrooms, which may be inconvenient for some guests.

This hotel in Hakuba is a gem! the prices are extremely reasonable considering the value you get. The attention to detail is impressive, from the cozy lighting in the rooms to the beautiful view of the ski area. The staff here really go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay, with Toshi and the team speaking excellent English and always being helpful. And let's not forget about the breakfast - a delightful combination of Japanese and Western dishes that will leave you energized for a day on the slopes.

The traditional tatami room at Shirouma-So was incredibly spacious and had cozy lighting. The futons provided were extra comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The highlight of our stay was the delicious Japanese breakfast and dinner, which catered to our dietary preferences. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The ryokan had excellent facilities for skiers, with a large area for storing ski equipment and a drying room. We also appreciated the option to send our ski gear directly to the ryokan using takkyubin. The onsen provided the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate after a day on the slopes. Thank you, Shirouma-So, for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this hotel.
