The rooms are well equipped and comfortable, allowing for a peaceful stay. The service provided by the staff is top notch, with their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond. The breakfast and dinner options are delicious and feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. the hotel offers a unique experience and a chance to immerse oneself in traditional Japanese culture.

The public bath could use some improvement, as there were issues with mold on the tiles and roof.

I had the most wonderful experience at a historic inn nestled on the banks of the Kamogawa River. The building has stood for centuries, and the owner's family has run it for over 400 years. The traditional rooms, with tatami mats and wooden sliding screens, provided a truly authentic Japanese atmosphere. The view from my room overlooked the river and a picturesque wooded hill. The highlight was the delicious Kyoto high cuisine served in my room by waitresses in beautiful kimonos and wooden clogs. The food was exquisite, cooked with local ingredients, and every dish was explained in detail. The inn's rich history and charming ambiance made me feel like I was truly experiencing old Japan. Despite a few minor issues, such as limited dinner time options and some technical difficulties, the overall experience was fantastic. The staff tried their best to ensure a comfortable stay, and the peaceful location, though a little far from the city center, offered a quiet retreat. I would highly recommend this inn for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Japanese tradition and hospitality. I had an amazing stay at this unique and historic inn.

Spending New Year's Eve at a traditional Japanese inn was a unique and amazing experience. the multi-course dinner served in our room was a highlight - we got to try some incredible dishes that we had never tasted before. the hot tub, though small, was relaxing and soothing after a day of sightseeing. the location, situated on a calm river surrounded by nature, was perfect for a peaceful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The futon mattress was quite firm and uncomfortable to sleep on. the room lacked a private bathroom, which meant using a shared bathroom for showers and toilets.
