I stayed in a hotel that was nestled in a picturesque area of Japan, with a sitting area that overlooked a small garden. The location was perfect, as it was next to a beautiful temple with a 1200 year old gingko tree. The room was a mix of Japanese and Western style, which made it comfortable and airy. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. I also had the pleasure of experiencing a traditional Japanese breakfast, which was delicious and plentiful.

The public bath on the first floor had some issues with water dripping from the ceiling, but it didn't take away from the overall experience.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of the city. The attention to detail and vintage style of the rooms give it a unique and authentic Japanese feel. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The included breakfast was a delight, with a variety of small dishes that allowed us to experience the true flavors of Japan.

The breakfast at Hodakaso Yamano Iori was a highlight of our stay. The Japanese breakfast was exquisite and the staff serving it were incredibly friendly and helpful. The onsen was also enjoyable, providing a relaxing experience. I had a positive experience at this hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and the city center, which allowed us to easily explore the nearby attractions. the room was comfortable and cozy, just like in the photos. the experience of using the traditional Japanese communal bath was memorable and relaxing. the breakfast was delicious, offering a choice between Japanese and Western-style meals.

Finding the entrance was a bit tricky as Google Maps directed us to the wrong location. We had to go around the property to find it.

Convenient location near train station and attractions. Comfortable and clean room with traditional Japanese decor. Staff friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot baths. Good value for money.

the highlight for me was the relative closeness to the JR station. the room I stayed in had a private bathroom and was surprisingly spacious. I appreciated that the shower and toilet were separate compartments. the property was impeccably clean, and I was glad to find that the concierge spoke English. it was a convenient and comfortable stay.

our room at hodakaso yamano iori was warm and spacious, with a lovely view of goldfish in a courtyard pond. the location was super convenient, close to the station and old town area. the staff was helpful and even stored our luggage during a day trip.

Yukata sizes for kids were limited.

We highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay in the area.

I had a wonderful Christmas stay at this traditional inn! the staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing me to use the shared bath even with my tattoos. the Japanese garden in the front yard was a beautiful sight to behold and added to the overall ambiance of the place. the breakfast served was absolutely fabulous, giving me a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. the proximity to the train station was convenient for arrival and the reasonable price made it a great choice for a holiday getaway.

While the overall experience was pleasant, I did notice a few drawbacks. the onsen facilities were a bit small, more like a 12 x 6 feet pool, which may not be suitable for those looking for a larger bathing area.
