I recently stayed at Hotel Sugicho in Kyoto for a week-long trip with my friend. The hotel is located in the quiet Gesha district, close to major bus lines, making it easy to explore the city. The property itself is new and extremely tidy. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious and hearty, providing a great start to our days. The staff at Sugicho were very attentive and caring, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. One incident that stood out to me was when the staff upgraded our room after we reported cigarette smoke from neighboring guests. As two female travelers, they made sure we felt safe and secure by double-checking that our door was locked while they set up the new room. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, especially to female travelers, for their exceptional service and attention to detail.

The location was perfect, with shops and restaurants nearby that stayed open late into the night. We were even able to walk to popular attractions like Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace. Despite the slight old wood smell in the room, it was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The hotel also had a convenient onsen for guests to relax in. For the affordable price we paid, it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a cheap and worthwhile stay in Kyoto.

Great Location and Comfortable Stay!

We stayed at a hotel in Kyoto and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Shiyakusho-mae and Karasuma-Oike stations. We were able to explore the Shijo and Nishiki market easily, which was a bonus. The room was clean and comfortable, although we did have to prepare our own futons every night, which was a bit tiring after a long day of exploring. The light breakfast provided was a good start to our day, although it would have been nice to have some variety during our two-night stay. Despite these minor drawbacks, our overall experience was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel for its great location and comfortable accommodations. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I recently stayed at a hotel in central Kyoto for the Gion Matsuri festival. The hotel was conveniently located just minutes away from the procession, making it easy for me to access. Despite the hotel's age, my room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the freedom of preparing my own futon, and the public baths were a nice touch, although I wish the usage times were extended. the hotel offered great value for the price I paid.
