kamikochi nishi-itoya mountain lodge exceeded our expectations. the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the onsen had a beautiful view of the hotaka mountains. the meals were delicious and the location was perfect for walking and enjoying the river views from our room.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. the value for money was excellent - we got more than we paid for. The location was perfect, right on the river with a beautiful view. Our room had a balcony, allowing us to relax and soak in the stunning surroundings. The staff were incredibly attentive and provided great service throughout our stay. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of fresh and regional dishes.

All in all, everything was satisfactory.

As adventure travelers, we loved the proximity to the bus terminal, making it easy to explore Kamikochi. The lodge had a mountain feel with warm wood accents and a breathtaking view from our balcony. The staff spoke English and were incredibly accommodating, even lending us walking sticks for our mountain hike. Special mention to the kitchen for preparing delicious dairy-free meals. Facilities like free coffee and phone chargers were a pleasant surprise. The onsen bath had a stunning mountain view.

Easter break was a real treat at this mountain retreat. the food was spot-on, giving me a taste of the local flavours. I really enjoyed the room decor, which had a traditional touch. Its location was perfect for my outdoor activities, with plenty of hikes, bike trails and scenic spots around.

Some improvements could be made. the room was a bit lackluster in terms of maintenance, as the sliding doors to the balcony were not keeping the little bugs outside.

Located near Kappa bridge, this hotel offers a picturesque view right on the river. The rooms, although traditional Japanese style and not ensuite, are spotlessly clean and offer a charming old-school vibe. The staff are warm and kind, providing exceptional service and helpful advice for local hikes. Breakfast and dinner are superb, with both Japanese and Western options available. The hotel also offers facilities such as a relaxing onsen and laundry facilities, as well as the convenience of umbrellas and hiking poles to borrow.

The room door lock could be improved to ensure better security for guests inside the room.

Our stay at the hotel was exceptional. The owner/manager went above and beyond to ensure we had a stress-free experience. They helped us with transportation issues, confirmed our mountain hut reservation, and even provided us with an English map. The customer service was impeccable. The onsen was lovely, and the meals were delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
