At my favorite spot, staff kindly helped with bags. This place suits me perfectly with Wi, Fi, valet parking, 24, hour reception, swimming pool. Returning for a city break; no regrets, all needs met here.

My trip to explore the Hells of the area was made convenient by the excellent location of this Ryokan - everything was within easy reach. the private indoor and outdoor onsen in the room were truly spectacular, especially with the stunning night view of the area. the deluxe room, along with the impeccable dinner course and sake selection, exceeded all expectations. The friendly staff, spacious room, and various onsen options further added to the luxurious experience. Cons: Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

Lovely wood architecture with relaxing tatami mat rooms, outdoor tubs. Tasty local sake and fresh food. Accommodating staff. Close to bus stop and nearby attractions. Cons: Felt like a cozy home away from home, no reason to complain.

I had a fantastic stay at a hotel near the attractions. Clean rooms with great facilities and transportation. the staff was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious.

Kannawaen impressed with spacious rooms, private hot spring baths, and stunning views from the Sora building. the food, especially fresh fish and sashimi, was delectable. Great location for exploring the 7 hells hot springs, just a short ride away.

My Christmas stay was incredible! the room was spacious and cozy, with a private onsen that was perfect for relaxing. the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and the location was ideal for visiting nearby attractions and enjoying the beautiful views.

The shuttle to the town was irregular, which made it difficult to get around and explore. the set dinner was average, and some of the dishes weren't to my taste.

Beautiful public and in-room onsens. Best breakfast on our trip. Perfect location near Beppu Hells. Can't be beat!

My recent stay at Kannawaen was truly exceptional. The highlight of my experience was the in-room hot spring bath, which provided a luxurious and relaxing soak. The spacious room was well-appointed and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The kaiseki dinner, featuring locally sourced ingredients, was a delectable culinary experience. The service throughout my stay was attentive and thoughtful. Despite a minor issue with the air system, overall I highly recommend this hotel.
