The value for money at this charming little inn in Magome was outstanding. The room was spacious, well-heated, and had a traditional Japanese style bedding. The location was fantastic, right on the picturesque main street, making it the perfect base for exploring the Magome - Tsumago hike. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The menu for breakfast could have been more varied.

I stayed at Magome Chaya for two nights and had an amazing experience. The spacious room had beautiful Japanese style decor and a comfortable futon bed. The hotel breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious, some of the best authentic cuisine we had in Japan. The portions were generous and worth the money. The owner was friendly and gave us helpful advice on bus times and a scenic walk to Tsumago. The staff were efficient and the hotel was clean. The view from our room was gorgeous and there was a sense of peace and tranquility that made me want to stay forever.

We had an amazing stay at a hotel in the heart of a beautifully preserved village, right on the Nakasendo walking trail. The location was easy to reach from the bus stop, just down the cobblestone pathway. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, prepared with local ingredients.

I stayed at this lovely Ryokan for a few nights during my trip in Japan. The location is amazing, perched midway up the hill of Magome, offering breathtaking views of the valley. The staff was incredibly accommodating, even providing me with a delicious vegetarian breakfast upon request. The traditional Japanese room was cozy and the shared bath was a great onsen experience. The highlight for me was the incredible dinner, with a variety of tasty dishes. a truly authentic and enjoyable stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at this guest house in Magome! The location is perfect for us as friends who enjoy going out at nights, with easy access to the main route and the old road to Tsumago. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The traditional Japanese style of the whole place, from the tatami mat rooms to the futon beds, added to the overall experience. The shared living room was a great communal space with a family shrine, TV, and plenty of room to relax. The staff's excellent English made communication a breeze. We also had the opportunity to learn how to make sushi during the traditional Japanese breakfast, which was a fun and unique experience.

Magoya Chaya is in a prime location on the Nakasendo trail, right in the heart of Magome. The traditional tatami rooms in the old Japanese building added to the authentic experience. There were nearby convenience stores and food vendors, perfect for budget travelers like us.

What a wonderful stay!! The owners were so welcoming and gave great tips for activities in the area. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the beautiful Main Street. Sleeping on futons and enjoying a delicious breakfast and dinner was a true ryokan experience. The shared bathrooms and toilets were always clean and the shared living room was cozy and inviting. I loved the background music played by one of the guests on their guitar.

While the overall experience was excellent, there were a few minor drawbacks. The lack of clear communication about the check-out time was a bit inconvenient.

I recently stayed at Magome Chaya in beautiful Magome for a few nights. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the dinner at the restaurant was great, although I wasn't too keen on the horse sashimi. The futon was a bit thin, but the fluffy and comfy duvet made up for it. The guests were considerate and noise was kept to a minimum. The town itself is stunning, especially in the evenings when most tourists had left. a lovely experience and I would be happy to stay here again in the future.
