The onsen was straight-up magical! So relaxing after a long day. The staff was wicked friendly, like they legitimately cared about us. Food was all fresh and local, and that 11-course dinner blew my mind! Even got to wear a yukata, felt a little fancy. Can't get over how beautiful the gardens were—perfect for chilling out. Definitely wanna come back.

My family had a fantastic time at this serene ryokan, nestled between Kyoto and Koyasan, by a beautiful river. The kaiseki meals were out of this world, filled with fresh, beautifully presented dishes. The traditional tatami rooms were cozy, and the onsen was perfect for relaxation after a long day of exploring. The staff treated us like family, making our experience truly special.

The only downside was the limited meat options available for dinner.

nanten-en ryokan is just amazin! the warm welcome was the best, like they really treat u like family. the private onsen was simply perfect and so cozy, we had it all to ourselves, it felt like luxury. also, the food was top-notch, like super fresh and so beautiful presented – it was def a feast for the eyes and tummy! the nature around was breathtaking, made it a perfect escape from the city life.

only downside was the location was a bit remote, and the train schedules can be confusing at times.

It was just a good pick for a stopover in Kawachinagano with value for money. I really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, especially while sipping tea in the lovely garden. Make sure to try the local snacks available, they're great!
