Located high in the mountains overlooking the city, Kyo No Minshuku Ohara No Sato offers a serene escape from the bustling city of Kyoto. The ryokan is conveniently close to at least two temples, allowing guests to easily explore the rich cultural heritage of the area. The room was clean and comfortable, with warm and cozy futons. The outdoor bath, nestled in a tub-shaped pool, provided a peaceful retreat surrounded by the beautiful forest.

The lack of staff attention to noise disturbances from other guests detracted from the otherwise tranquil atmosphere.

This hotel is a hidden gem nestled in a picturesque valley, away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto city center. The serene and tranquil location amidst the mountains provides a refreshing escape from the city.

The food was good and the dining room had a beautiful garden view. Plus, we were given complementary bathrobes and slippers upon arrival. It was located near some old temples and the surrounding area was picturesque.

The public bathroom and shower closed at 8:50 am, which was way too early for us to use before breakfast at 8. there was only one set of the bathroom and shower to share among the guests, which made it almost impossible to take a shower in the morning.

We had a fantastic stay at a charming minshuku nestled in the beautiful town of Ohara. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and the view from our room was breathtaking. The staff were incredibly helpful and even assisted us with our luggage. The highlight of our stay was the delicious dinner and breakfast that were served to us. I highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Ohara.

Authentic ryokan in a rural area, delicious food, friendly staff, beautiful temples within walking distance, fantastic onsen with indoor and outdoor tubs. Bus service available from the station. Quaint, farm atmosphere. Memorable dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff with pick-up service.

For the price we paid, we got great value and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was a bit far from the city, but the surrounding countryside was beautiful. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful, even keeping dinner for us when we arrived late. I loved that the hotel gave me a true Japanese experience, making me feel like I was staying where locals stay.
