We were mesmerized by the stunning outdoor onsen at Rankeisou. The view of the snow-covered surroundings made it feel like a true paradise. The spacious and comfortable room, especially room 302 with its panoramic river view, added to the magical atmosphere. The owner, Yukari-san, impressed us with her impeccable hospitality and excellent English skills. we had an unforgettable experience at this genuine Japanese Inn.

Surrounded by picturesque scenery with a breathtaking view of the river, the ryokan offers a peaceful and calming atmosphere for a relaxing stay away from city life. Meals provided were of exquisite quality and tasted locally sourced, which added to the authenticity of the experience. Being able to soak in the private baths with the option of sake was a highlight.

The check-in and check-out times may prove to be inconvenient for guests, particularly those arriving at the property earlier than the designated check-in time. While the public bath provided downstairs offered great facilities, having a larger toilet room would have been beneficial for added comfort during the stay.
