The value for our money at the ryokan was excellent, with a beautiful and spacious room that comfortably accommodated three of us. The location was ideal, right on the main street and a short walk from transportation hubs. The staff at the ryokan were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.

You'll also appreciate the various facilities available, such as the garden area, hot spring bath, and free Wi-Fi. this place offers a true Japanese hospitality experience at its very best.

I had an amazing experience at a lovely ryokan in a perfect location. The staff were the kindest and most helpful I've ever encountered. The ryokan is just a few blocks away from the morning market and the old town, making it very convenient to explore. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast provided were delicious and beautifully presented. I also loved the cozy atmosphere of the ryokan, it felt like being at grandma's home. The onsen was a nice addition, although the hours were a bit inconvenient. I highly recommend this ryokan for a great traditional Japanese experience.

They helped us with our luggage and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. the hotel's location was perfect, right in the heart of town and close to all the attractions. It also had its own private parking lot, which made it convenient for guests with cars. One of the best aspects of our stay was the dinner in our room. the Kaiseki cuisine was fantastic and made us feel like we were dining at home.

The staff tended to show up earlier than agreed upon for wake-up calls and meals, which made us feel rushed at times. the onsen could have been hotter, and it would have been great to have longer hours for both the onsen and breakfast.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with soft bedding on the floor. the kaiseki-style meals were delightful and delicious. the location was perfect, just a few blocks away from the morning market and the historic old town. Best of all, the staff, led by Mrs Tanabe, were incredibly kind and accommodating, providing excellent recommendations and allowing us to store our bags and park our car after check-out.

The only downside was that the onsen hours were not very convenient, with restricted times in the early morning and late afternoon. This made it difficult to enjoy the onsen after breakfast.

The warm and friendly Mrs. Tanabe at Ryokan Tanabe in Takayama made our stay truly enjoyable. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and helped us with dinner reservations. The location was excellent, with convenient pickup points for our bus tour right in front of the ryokan. The room was new and clean, providing a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

The ryokan had beautiful, comfortable rooms and quick service. The public bath area was nice. The town of Takayama was beautiful to explore. We enjoyed delicious local meat from a small outdoor grill near the central bridge. There was also a cozy café near the river where we had wonderful homemade apple pie and coffee. The outdoor house museum just outside of town was a scenic and well-kept attraction for Japan history lovers. The staff, including Mrs. Tanabe, were lovely and accommodating. They even stored our bags and allowed us to park our car after check-out so we could continue sightseeing.
