The breakfast selection is varied and nutritious, with a good variety of foods, including fish, and a view of the tea garden.

We loved our experience at Ryokan Tori. The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly. The ryokan itself is beautiful and calm, the facilities were really good and our room was incredibly delicate and relaxing. The futon beds were thicker than normal which made them really comfortable & the yukata we were given was so cozy. Would really recommend spending some time inside, attending the tea ceremony & taking a traditional bath! Bonus: the breakfast was delicious!

The ryokan is conveniently located near the famous Golden Pavilion and the beautiful Arashiyama area. Although it may take some time to reach from downtown by bus, it is worth the journey as it provides a peaceful atmosphere away from the tourist noise. The rooms are beautifully designed with tatami mats and futons, providing a true traditional experience. The onsen-style bath is a perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring. the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering a tea ceremony and serving an authentic Japanese breakfast.
