The location feels isolated, making it inconvenient to reach tourist sites!!! Public transport options are limited, and the shared bathroom may not suit everyone’s taste!!! Considering these factors, a more central location would enhance the overall experience!!!

Staying at Ryokan Tori was like stepping into a cozy Japanese fairy tale. From the exquisite tea ceremony that welcomed us to the warm hospitality of the hosts, every moment felt special. The private hot bath was a daily highlight, and the breakfast was so delicious that I half-expected to see a Michelin star attached! Plus, the room was charming and tranquil, making it feel like a home away from home.

I appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the robes provided for trips to the shared bathroom. Perfect for a short stay or cultural immersion.

my stay at ryokan tori was almost tolerable but the location was seriously a diaster, no close subway, and the shower was indoors but not private, how quaint. obviously i woudl have appreciated a complimentary upgrade considering these inconveniences but alas, i guess i'm just a regular guest here. i just couldn’t bring myself to give it more than 7 stars.

Staying here was perfect for my weekend strolls through Kyoto, giving me easy access to both the beautiful Kyoto Imperial Palace, just about 2.5 km away, and the serene Shimogamo-jinga Shrine, a bit further out at almost 3 km, along with delicious meals just a few steps away, like Maggie's Curry & Bar which I loved visiting after a long day of exploring. the warm hospitality from the hosts made me feel right at home during my stay.

Had the loveliest stay with kind hosts, and I can’t believe I finally enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony! The comfy futon transformed me into a sleeping beauty, and the stunning courtyard was pure bliss for my chill moments.

Traffic was a bit like a bad rom-com. finding transport felt like a treasure hunt! And the shared bathroom? Let’s just say I'm more of a 'private oasis' kind of gal.
