Authentic, Charming, Memorable Stay

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a traditional ryokan in Kanazawa and it was truly an authentic and charming experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped back in time.

We had a wonderful stay at a traditional Japanese inn. The room was spacious with a beautiful view of the garden. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the castle and Kenrokuen garden. The owners were incredibly kind and the Japanese breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

I had a fantastic experience at a traditional Japanese ryokan called Sumiyoshiya. the staff were incredibly nice, attentive, and helpful. the food was excellent, and I especially appreciated their awareness of gluten-free options. the location was perfect, right next to a bustling market and within walking distance of Kanazawa Castle. the rooms were lovely, with private toilets, and everything was impeccably clean. the onsen was a great way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. I highly recommend Sumiyoshiya for a wonderful stay!

The location of the hotel is convenient, with many attractions within walking distance. Guests can easily explore the city without the need for transportation. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a peaceful and serene environment for a good night's sleep. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, ensuring guests feel welcomed and well taken care of during their stay.

The in-room wifi can be unreliable and slow at times, making it inconvenient for guests who rely on internet access for work or staying connected with loved ones.

Ik heb een fantastisch verblijf gehad in deze B&B op een rustige locatie dicht bij het centrum van Harlingen. De kamers zijn ruim en modern, met elk een eigen badkamer. Alles was goed verzorgd en schoon. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en heerlijk, met veel keuzemogelijkheden. De eigenaren waren erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze wisten precies hoe ze een B&B moesten runnen en waren altijd bereid om te helpen. Gelukkig was er natuurlijk een handige overdekte hal waar je je e-bikes kon stallen en opladen. Al met al een geweldige ervaring!

The room was beautifully designed with tatami mats and comfortable futon beds. The onsen was relaxing and the breakfast, although a bit pricey, was delicious. The location was convenient for visiting the castle and park. I highly recommend this ryokan for an authentic Japanese experience.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome during our stay. The location of the hotel was perfect, close to attractions and easily accessible from the train station.

The food options were very limited and not to our liking. We were expecting a variety of dishes to choose from, but the menu was quite limited and didn't cater to our tastes.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in several ways. the attention to detail was impeccable. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the thoughtfully provided amenities, everything was on point. I particularly loved the Shiseido bath products that were provided, they added a luxurious touch to my stay. Additionally, the location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It was just around the corner from the fish market, allowing me to enjoy fresh seafood throughout my stay. Furthermore, the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that all my needs were met. Lastly, the breakfast served with a view into the garden was a delightful way to start the day.

I had an amazing stay at this fantastic family-run ryokan. the staff were so helpful and welcoming, making me feel immediately at home. the location is excellent, with all the main historical spots of the city nearby. the traditional room with tatami floors and paper wall decor added to the authentic Japanese experience. the ryokan also had a shared onsen, which was a great way to relax. the highlight of my stay was the delicious dinner prepared by the family, with a variety of dishes including salmon, tempura, sashimi, and miso soup. it was the best dinner experience I had in Japan. the futon beds were incredibly comfortable, and the duvets were the fluffiest I've ever experienced. the whole place was spotlessly clean, and the hostess went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. the breakfast was delightful and generous, and the coffee was the best I had in Japan. Without a doubt, I will choose to stay at this ryokan again when I return to Kanazawa.

We highly recommend Sumiyoshiya as a must-visit ryokan.

I had a wonderful stay at a small and personal ryokan close to Omicho Market. the ryokan provided a unique and valuable experience to learn about traditional Japanese hospitality. My attendant, Mie Sumi, was exceptional—she greeted me, served delicious meals, and answered all my questions. the food, made with fresh local ingredients from the nearby market, was tasty and filling. the ryokan was surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the main street. the location was also convenient, with easy access to public transportation and shopping. a fantastic introduction to the ryokan experience.

The traditional yukata robes were a nice touch. The host, Mie Sumi, was very attentive and helpful. The location was convenient, close to public transport, shopping, and the Omicho Market. The staff provided bikes for exploring the city, which was a great bonus.
