I recently stayed at a charming inn in Nakatsugawa and had a wonderful experience. The building was a beautiful converted old house, with simple facilities but delicious meals. I loved that I had two rooms - one for sleeping and one for sitting, which made it quite spacious. The tatami room had the most comfortable mattresses and linens I've encountered so far. And the highlight was definitely the Japanese stay bath - an onsen - which I highly recommend. The inn is also conveniently located for hiking to Tsumago, making it a great choice for nature lovers. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this inn and would gladly visit again.

We had an amazing stay at a traditional ryokan in a perfect location for trekking between Tsumago and Magome. The staff were helpful with luggage transfers and the dinner was one of the best we had during our trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the meals were beautifully presented, like unwrapping little gifts. We also appreciated the private bathing time and the provided yukata and outer robes. Highly recommended for a unique ryokan experience.

Our room lacked any place to hang our clothes, leaving us to put our bags on the floor. the bathroom and bathing areas were located downstairs and involved a bit of a trek each time we needed to use them.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of a charming town. The location couldn't be better, right in the center and very near to the bus station. The rooms are beautifully designed in traditional Japanese style and offer an amazing view. The attention to detail is superb, from the exceptionally comfortable futon to the delicious breakfast served every morning.

The service is exceptional, with friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast is delicious, offering a wide variety of dishes. Plus, the view from the hotel is breathtaking, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Magome.

There is a shared common bath for the females, which might not be ideal for those looking for a private bathroom experience.

our stay at tajimaya was extraordinary. the warm hospitality and authentic ryokan experience exceeded our expectations. from the delicious dinner to the samurai song and dance lesson, we felt truly immersed in japanese culture. the separate living and sleeping areas in our room were a bonus. highly recommended.

tajimaya in nakatsugawa surpassed our expectations. the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was superb and varied, and the location was perfect for exploring the charming village. the rooms were comfortable with stunning views and the owner even went out of their way to drop us off at our bus stop. highly recommend tajimaya!
