The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was just outside of the busy center, but also close to shops. We loved the fact that it was in front of the market where we enjoyed shopping for fresh produce and goods. The room was really clean and spacious, equipped with big windows that gave us a great view of the bustling street below. The employees were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed during our stay.

We would have appreciated having coffee available in the mornings to start our day off right.

I stayed at a great hotel in a central location. The staff were mostly friendly, although communication could be improved. The room was clean enough, with the exception of a dead scarab-like insect found under the sink. However, overall, my experience at Casa Tobala was positive. They accommodated my early check-in and the room was ready when I arrived. Despite the hotel being older and different from the pictures, it was still very clean. The room was cleaned daily and the hotel provided fresh towels, toiletries, and replenished coffee. They also had free drinking water available, which was important since tap water is not drinkable in Mexico. The hotel's location was very convenient, being close to the town center and within walking distance to the central markets. Despite being surrounded by eateries and street vendors, the hotel was surprisingly quiet at night.

The worst aspects of our stay were the lack of maintenance and the weak Wi-Fi in the rooms. the hotel seemed a bit tired from the outside, and we encountered some maintenance issues in our room, such as a crooked toilet and a shower without a curtain or handles, which made it slippery and potentially dangerous.

The hotel had some notable issues, such as the noisy central AC that frequently kicks on and off making it difficult to sleep. the thin curtains allowed light from the communal area to keep us up at night, and the breakfast was mediocre for the price.
