During our stay at a hostel in Somoto, we were impressed by the spacious and comfortable room, as well as the beautiful bathroom with a hot shower. The common area was also inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to help us, from arranging a fantastic tour of the Canyon Somoto to providing valuable information about the area. The free breakfast was delicious and the little terrace outside our room was a pleasant surprise. Although it was a bit more expensive than what we usually pay as backpackers, the extra cost was definitely worth it for such incredible accommodation. I highly recommend this hostel for a memorable stay in Somoto.

I stayed at Hostal San Jose in Somoto for a couple of nights during Semana Santa. The host was incredibly friendly and even bought our bus tickets. The rooms were clean, and the balcony had a peaceful atmosphere. The staff constantly offered water, coffee, and beer, and arranged a tour to the canyons. The breakfast was amazing, and the family running the hotel was helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!

there was no shared kitchen available, which would have been convenient for guests. there was no option to refill water bottles, which would have been a nice eco-friendly feature.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, as it is situated near the bus terminal and the center of the village. Guests have mentioned that the rooms are clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing excellent service to the guests. the hotel offers a delicious breakfast, with options such as fresh coffee and fruits. Some rooms also come with a balcony or a terrace, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Some guests have mentioned that the shower beams can be a bit bothersome, as they tend to go in all directions, including in your face or hair when you don't want it.

I had an amazing experience at this hostel. the owner was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. He arranged a private tour around the region, which included visiting famous attractions and learning about the local culture. the hostel itself was super clean and the staff were friendly. the breakfast was delicious too. I can see a lot of potential in this region and I would definitely stay at Hostal San Jose again if I ever return.
