We had a great time over Christmas at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, offering to pick up groceries for us and always saying hello. The location was perfect for exploring the area, with easy access to Cape Reinga. The room was comfortable and warm, and we had a dorm room all to ourselves. The kitchen was well-equipped and clean, and there was even a common food area from previous guests. there was a table tennis table and billiards for entertainment.

There were a few downsides to our stay. there were some noise issues with other guests who were staying long-term.

I had a great value for my money at this lodge! The room was lovely, with lots of natural light and a convenient parking spot right outside. The kitchen was amazing, with plenty of work stations and the opportunity to socialize with other guests. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the location of the lodge was perfect, being situated between town and the grocery stores.

I absolutely loved the cozy and charming atmosphere of the lodge. The decor had a lovely seaside vibe, with beautiful nautical touches that made me feel like I was on a seaside vacation. The general areas were well-maintained and clean, making it easy for me to navigate around as a senior person. It was a delight to relax in the communal area, which had comfortable seating and plenty of space to socialize with other guests.

I would have appreciated if there were more activities or amenities specifically catered towards senior guests.

The lodge provided comfortable bunk beds, clean bathrooms, and a tidy kitchen and entertainment area. Friendly staff and great location. Complimentary WiFi and air conditioning were a bonus. Ample parking space, big kitchen, and clean showers. The lounge had a pool table and ping pong, with outdoor tables for enjoying warm evenings. a great place for trekkers and friends.

Our stay at the Lodge was exceptional. The furnished kitchen was impressively spacious and well-equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. We loved the system of labeling food, and the "free food" section was a brilliant way to reduce waste. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the comfortable and spacious accommodations made our stay truly enjoyable.

The location of the hotel is great, with popular restaurants like KFC, Pak'nSave, and Maccas just a short distance away. This makes it convenient for families with kids to grab a quick meal or buy groceries easily.

Some guests have mentioned that the kitchen utensils and equipment were not in the best condition due to frequent use.

Stayed here 4 times over 6 years, amazing value for money. Comfy rooms with extra towels, toiletries, and kitchen facilities. Great location near KFC, Pak'n Save, and McDonald's. Convenient for visiting Cape Reinga. Friendly and welcoming staff. Heating and comfortable bedding. Family-friendly with internet access and entertainment facilities for children. Staff went the extra mile by allowing late check-in.

We had a nice and convenient stay at Beachcomber Lodge & Backpacker. The room was a good size and had a private bathroom and our own fridge, which was really convenient. The kids enjoyed the ping pong and billiards, and we appreciated the free wifi and friendly staff. The free parking was also a plus.

Stayed 4 times in 6 years, great value for money, comfy bed, well-equipped shared areas, friendly staff. Complimentary WiFi and air conditioning were a big plus. Loved being close to the beach.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The studio was clean, modern, and had its own bathroom/shower, TV, and wifi. The facilities, such as the open lounge/dining/gaming area, were conveniently located near our rooms, which made it easy for our children to access. The friendly atmosphere created by other travelers and seasonal workers added to the overall experience. The staff were extremely accommodating and went the extra mile, even allowing us to check in late. The beds were comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep in the spacious and clean room.

The bunk beds were a bit squeaky and the cloth chairs in the room were badly stained and uncomfortable. The registration and parking area was not well marked, causing confusion upon arrival.
