We had an amazing experience staying at Haka Lodge in Taupo. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and accommodated throughout our stay. The 4-bed female dorm we stayed in was clean and cosy, with great amenities like privacy curtains and personal shelves. The hostel had a relaxed and friendly vibe, and we enjoyed socializing with other travelers. Its convenient location within walking distance of downtown Taupo and Lake Taupo made exploring the area easy.

Finding the hostel was a bit tricky at first.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and accommodating this place was. I loved the location since it was on a hill and close to many restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to provide housekeeping, laundry, tours, and ticket assistance. They also had many amenities such as heating, a sitting area, a terrace, dining table, garden furniture, cookware. The shared kitchen and flat-screen TV were particularly convenient, and the curtains and carpeted floor provided a cozy atmosphere. Additionally, the outdoor dining area, picnic area, and tables were a lovely touch, perfect for leisurely BBQs, while the sun terrace and garden area made for a relaxing stay.

I would definitely recommend this hotel!

I recently stayed at a lovely lodge in Taupo called Haka Lodge. The room was beautifully equipped with a TV and had the added bonus of a washing machine. The communal kitchen was huge and well-stocked with all the kitchen utensils you could need. I also loved the fact that they had a terrace with a stunning view. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. I had a fantastic experience at Haka Lodge.

Our stay at Haka Lodge was fantastic! The beds were comfy and private with curtains. The kitchen was well-equipped with an amazing view of the lake. We loved the secure bike storage room, but access hours were not ideal. we recommend this hostel.

Nothing that I didn't like.

The apartment had enough space for all four of us and allowed us to entertain guests comfortably. The reception staff was friendly, and we appreciated the hot towel rail. The kitchen and rooms were clean, and we received proper guidance from the staff.

Super friendly staff & nice hostel. Cozy and lovely atmosphere, with a clean kitchen and bathrooms. the lounge area was good for relaxing. the beds were comfy, and the staff were very friendly. Thanks to Nick for arranging our shuttle for the crossing hike.

The en-suite twin room was super tiny, with very little space between the beds and a small sink in the bathroom. It was difficult to open both luggages at the same time.

We had a great stay at Haka Lodge. The individual facilities in the rooms were a huge plus - having a light, sockets, and even cotton made our stay more comfortable and restful. The staff was also incredibly kind and responsible, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. I would definitely recommend this lodge for its excellent amenities and professional service.

The location of the lodge is convenient for travelers as it is not far from the town center and the lake. It is situated outside of the main town center but still right on the Taupo tourist area. The lounge and dining area provide beautiful views of the mountains. The friendly staff take care of the facilities and keep the toilets immaculate. The beds have fresh linens, and many power sockets are available around the rooms.

Some travelers were noisy at night, and there was no one around to ensure quiet time.

Liked everything.

Stayed at Haka Lodge for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised by everything. The Apartment was spacious with a full-sized kitchen, fridge, and bath. No issues with sound or bad behavior despite being close to other backpackers. Arrived late and was still greeted by a friendly staff member. Lovely common areas, well-organized kitchen, and a comfy private bed. a great experience that felt like home.

Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Had an awesome weekend away. the place was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff always willing to lend a hand. the lounge area was super cozy and the staff even offered complementary hot towels. the location was great, with plenty of cheap food options nearby and the Tongariro Crossing and Huka Falls within easy reach. Plus, the reception staff helped book our adventure activities.

The bunk beds in the dorm rooms - the bottom bunks had limited head space and I hit my head a few times, causing some morning headaches. But, if you pick the top bunk, you'll be good to go!
