The value for money at Historic Colenso Cottage was exceptional. The room was beautifully decorated with a modern twist and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the town centre in a quiet residential area. The staff, especially Katie the cottage manager, were delightful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel breakfast menu could have been improved by offering complimentary conditioner for hair alongside the shampoo and body wash provided.

The location of the cottage is simply lovely - a quiet residential area just a few minutes walk from the town center. Guests have raved about the natural sunshine that fills the cottage, making it light and airy. The bed is incredibly comfortable, with high-quality linens and bedding. The cottage is also impeccably clean, with a helpful host who ensures all guest needs are met. Loads of local maps and information are provided for guests' convenience.

One thing to note is that parking is available outside on the street, and the walk back up to the cottage includes a flight of 76 steps, plus a steep slope for the shortest route. Though if you are fit enough, many guests have mentioned it is well worth the climb to stay at this amazing cottage.
