We had a great value for our money at Wonderland. The A frame private room was cosy and clean, and the setting in the mountains was simply stunning. The staff gave us a warm welcome and were quick to address any issues we had.

The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement, specifically in terms of variety and options.

Wonderland Makarora Lodge is a hidden gem nestled right on the edge of the rainforest. The location is perfect for nature lovers, with beautiful walking tracks nearby. The cabins are comfortable, offering picturesque mountain views in the morning. The friendly staff and great cooking facilities make for a pleasant stay.

I recently had a fantastic stay at a hotel in a remote but absolutely stunning valley in New Zealand. The location was second to none, providing breathtaking views and a truly peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect spot for an overnight stop during my cycling trip. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that all my needs were met. The basic amenities in the rooms were satisfactory, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast offered was delicious and provided a great start to the day.

We had a comfortable room with stunning mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The beautiful forest walks nearby added to the overall experience.

I would recommend this lodge for its affordability, beautiful location, and friendly staff. While there were a few drawbacks, the positives outweighed them.

We spent our New Year's Eve at a mountain lodge and enjoyed two nice things: the breakfast and the hot water. the location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Another plus was how clean the place was, especially the linens. We also enjoyed picking fresh cherries from a nearby tree.

walking back to our chalet at night was risky as there were no lights and the bathroom was freezing with no heating inside. We also found it difficult to sleep as the bedroom blinds did not block out the light and the heater above the bed was too bright.
