Lovely location near Kauri museum. Friendly hosts, amazing breakfast at their cafe. Old-world building with soft colors, peaceful atmosphere. Communal space for food storage and tea-making. Local pub, The Thirsty Tui, is a short drive away.

the location was perfect for me as it was right next to the must-see Kauri museum, which I found extremely interesting. Secondly, the rooms were spacious and well-furnished, with a veranda overlooking the beautiful garden. Lastly, the staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. I also appreciated the attention to detail, such as the welcome drink waiting in the room and the breakfast included in the price.

All in all, everything was just fine.

We had a delightful stay at this family-run accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable, with clean carpets and new curtains. The bathroom was also very clean. The hosts were extremely friendly and eager to make our stay enjoyable. The location was perfect, as it was just down the road from the Kauri Museum, which is a must-see attraction. We also loved that we were within walking distance to the local pub for dinner, and there was a cafe nearby. The view and the quiet were fantastic.

Some of the bathroom towel rails were a bit sun damaged, but considering the overall cleanliness and comfort of the room, it was a minor issue.

Excellent hosts, excellent food, beautiful location, home-like atmosphere, spacious room, friendly owners.

The peaceful location of this bed and breakfast and its proximity to the Kauri museum were perfect for my city break. I enjoyed the fresh morning muffins and the excellent bacon for breakfast, and the veranda overlooking the pretty garden was a great spot to relax. The lounge area with its TV was a nice touch too.

We had a fantastic time at the Matakohe House B&B. Our stay in this lovely bed and breakfast was brief but memorable. The owners were friendly and accommodating, serving up an exceptional meal on their beautiful veranda. Breakfast was equally delightful, with the most marvellous scrambled eggs. The room was perfect, complete with a bottle of portwine and chocolates for an after-dinner treat. The cleanliness of the carpets, curtains, and bathrooms was impressive, and the peaceful view was breathtaking. We also enjoyed the shared lounge area with a TV and fridge, as well as the convenient location just minutes away from the Kauri Museum.
