We recently stayed at a boutique hotel that was an absolute hidden gem. the staff were friendly and genuine in their service and hospitality. the room was spacious and well-appointed, with a generous spa bath and a comfortable sofa seating area. the hotel restaurant offered some of the best food we've ever had and the ambiance was fantastic. We loved the eclectic artworks that decorated the hotel and made for interesting conversation. the location was ideal, with plenty of sights nearby to explore.

That parking was limited, but the staff were helpful in pointing out nearby options. the noise level in the room was a bit loud, as we could hear people walking around upstairs and traffic outside.

I recently stayed at a hotel in New Plymouth for a work trip and had a mixed experience. Our only minor issue was the outdoor dining area that could have been cleaner, with fake plants and cobwebs that detracted from the beauty of the Garden area. the shower design was not well thought out, with a slippery floor and low extraction fan that caused a slight hazard.
