The location of the motel is fantastic, being very close to the lake for a swim. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby for dining options.

The room lacked privacy with thin walls, making it easy to hear neighboring guests.

We had a blast at The Lake Motel! The retro vibe was on point and the rooms were clean and tidy. Tony, the friendly host, even went the extra mile by providing us with milk in a jug. The blackout blind in Room 1 was a bonus, ensuring a peaceful and uninterrupted sleep. The motel's location close to the lake was perfect for us, and we loved the quiet setting. The fact that pets are welcome was another plus. We've stayed here multiple times and have already booked our future stay with our kids and grandchildren. It's the perfect place for us party people to enjoy our time in Taupo.
